Cookie DŌ is a fan-favorite dessert shop based in New York, serving up safe-to-eat, customizable cookie dough that keeps their customers coming back for more. They let customers build their own bundles of dough flavors, but the technology behind that customization was holding them back. Their old bundle builder was clunky—customers couldn’t edit their choices once they added them to the cart, and behind the scenes, the team struggled with tracking inventory and planning production. Creating a smarter bundle builder

When Cookie DŌ came to us, they were using a Shopify app that wasn’t cutting it. The app bundled the products in a way that made it impossible to track individual flavors, so their team had no clear way of managing inventory or predicting production needs. Plus, once a bundle was in the cart, customers couldn’t go back and make any changes, which created frustration for people who wanted more flexibility.

We knew we could do better. Our first step was building a custom bundle builder that added every single flavor to the cart individually. This allowed Cookie DŌ to accurately track inventory at the flavor level, helping them plan production much more efficiently. And for their customers? They can now easily edit their bundle before checkout, making the experience smoother and more enjoyable. It was a win for both the front and back end of their business.

Boosting customer engagement with enhanced UX/UI

We wanted to take Cookie DŌ’s bundling experience to the next level by making it even more interactive and rewarding. Our team added a progress bar feature that encourages customers to add more to their bundle. As they pick flavors, the progress bar shows how close they are to unlocking special deals and discounts. It’s a simple addition, but it makes a huge difference—customers love seeing how close they are to a reward, and as a result, we’ve seen an increase in order sizes for Cookie DŌ.

Streamlining operations with unique identifier tracking

To help streamline Cookie DŌ’s operations even further, we built a unique identifier system that ties each bundle pack together. This feature allows their team to generate detailed reports that show which flavors are selling best, how many bundles are being created, and what deals customers are taking advantage of. With this level of insight, Cookie DŌ can make better decisions about their inventory and forecast production needs with greater accuracy. This level of reporting has been a game-changer for their operations team.
